Ryanair, la compagnia aerea n.1 in Europa e in Italia, ha annunciato oggi (24 febbraio) il suo più grande operativo estivo di sempre per Trapani-Marsala, a seguito dell’apertura della nuova base Ryanair presso l’aeroporto Vincenzo Florio da gennaio 2026. Questa importante espansione segue la decisione lungimirante della Regione Siciliana di abolire l’addizionale municipale negli aeroporti più piccoli dell’Isola – una mossa che ha immediatamente migliorato la connettività regionale, il turismo e l’occupazione. Quest’estate, Trapani-Marsala, la terza base siciliana di Ryanair (e la ventesima in Italia), offrirà infatti ancora più scelta e tariffe più basse per i residenti siciliani.

L’operativo estivo 2026 di Ryanair prevede 2 aeromobili basati (un investimento da 200 milioni di dollari), 24 rotte (incluse 6 nuove ed entusiasmanti connessioni con Stoccolma, Bournemouth, Bari, Lublino, Saarbrücken e Verona) e 1,2 milioni di passeggeri all’anno (+35%). La continua crescita di Ryanair supporterà oltre 960 posti di lavoro locali e garantirà un importante impulso economico per Trapani, Marsala e l’intera regione Sicilia, grazie allo sviluppo del turismo, allo sviluppo dell’economia locale, al miglioramento della connettività tutto l’anno e all’offerta di tariffe ancora più basse per residenti e visitatori.

L’operativo Ryanair per l’estate 2026 a Trapani-Marsala prevede:

Questa entusiasmante crescita e il nuovo investimento su Trapani-Marsala sono il risultato diretto della decisione lungimirante del Presidente Schifani di abolire l’addizionale municipale negli aeroporti più piccoli dell’Isola – una misura che sta già portando più rotte, più investimenti e più posti di lavoro. Ryanair invita il Governo siciliano a fare un ulteriore passo avanti, eliminando questa tassa regressiva in tutti gli aeroporti della Sicilia, così da sbloccare gli stessi benefici anche per Palermo e Catania, aumentando la connettività, favorendo il turismo e offrendo tariffe più basse a tutti i siciliani.

Nel frattempo, questa tassa regressiva continua a limitare il potenziale di crescita degli aeroporti in tutto il Paese, soprattutto a Roma, dove misure anti‑crescita – come un’addizionale municipale anche più alta rispetto agli altri aeroporti italiani, il limite artificiale ai voli su Ciampino e le eccessive tariffe aeroportuali applicate da AdR – stanno danneggiando la competitività e indebolendo i collegamenti nazionali essenziali tra la capitale e regioni come la Sicilia.

Eliminare questa tassa anticrescita in tutti gli aeroporti siciliani (inclusi Palermo e Catania) permetterebbe di sbloccare ancora più crescita, tariffe più basse e una maggiore connettività durante tutto l’anno per tutti i cittadini siciliani e per i visitatori”.

This exciting growth and investment in Trapani-Marsala is a direct result of President Schifani’s forward-thinking decision to scrap the Municipal Tax at smaller Sicilian airports – a measure that is already delivering more routes, more investment and more jobs. Ryanair calls on the Sicilian Govt to take a step further by scrapping the regressive tax at all Sicilian airports to unlock the same benefits for Palermo and Catania, driving more connectivity, more tourism and lower fares for all Sicilians.

Meanwhile, regressive Municipal Tax continues to limit airports’ growth potential across the country, especially in Rome where anti-growth measures – such as a Municipal Tax which is even higher than other Italian airports, the artificial flight cap at Ciampino and AdR’s excessive airport charges – are damaging competitiveness and weakening essential domestic links between the capital and regions like Sicily.
