WIEN WIRD NICHT WACHSEN, SOLANGE DIE SCHÄDLICHE 12 € STEUER BESTEHT
Ryanair, Europas Fluggesellschaft Nr. 1, begrüßte heute (Donnerstag, 27. November) die Entscheidung des Flughafens Wien, die Pläne für eine dritte Piste aufzugeben, da die beiden bestehenden Start- und Landebahnen mehr als ausreichend sind, um bis zu 60 Millionen Passagiere pro Jahr abzufertigen. Angesichts der derzeit hohen Kosten für Flugreisen in Österreich, der von der Regierung erhobenen schädlichen Luftverkehrsabgabe in Höhe von 12 € und der seit Covid explodierenden Kosten am Flughafen Wien und bei der österreichischen Flugsicherung wird das Passagieraufkommen in Wien im Jahr 2026 zurückgehen und nicht wachsen.
Der Flughafen Wien verfügt bereits über zwei Start- und Landebahnen, die mehr als ausreichend sind, um über 60 Millionen Passagiere pro Jahr abzufertigen. Derzeit beträgt das Verkehrsaufkommen in Wien jedoch nur 32 Millionen Passagiere und wächst nicht mehr weiter. Sollte die österreichische Regierung die schädliche Luftverkehrssteuer von 12 € abschaffen, die Flugsicherungsgebühren senken und der Flughafen Wien seine hohen Gebühren wieder auf das Niveau vor der Pandemie zurückführen, wird Ryanair 1 Milliarde US-Dollar investieren, um in den nächsten fünf Jahren ein Verkehrswachstum von 70 % zu erzielen, hauptsächlich in Wien. Selbst dieses Wachstum würde jedoch keine dritte Start- und Landebahn erfordern.
Der Flughafen Wien sollte sich auf die Steigerung des Verkehrsaufkommens konzentrieren, um seine bestehenden zwei Start- und Landebahnen optimal zu nutzen. Dazu sollte er seine hohen Gebühren dringend senken und Ryanairs Kampagne zur Abschaffung der schädlichen österreichischen Luftverkehrssteuer von 12 € unterstützen, wie es viele andere EU-Staaten kürzlich getan haben. Ryanair ist überzeugt, dass Wien mit diesen Maßnahmen zu einem starken und nachhaltigen Verkehrswachstum zurückkehren kann, von dem Konsumenten, Tourismus, Arbeitsplätze und die österreichische Wirtschaft profitieren, ohne dass eine dritte Start- und Landebahn erforderlich ist.
Andreas Gruber von Ryanair sagte:
„Wir begrüßen die Entscheidung des Flughafens Wien, sein Projekt für einedritte Piste aufzugeben. Die beiden bestehenden Start- und Landebahnen können bis zu 60 Millionen Passagiere pro Jahr abfertigen, während das aktuelle Verkehrsaufkommen lediglich 32 Millionen beträgt. Das eigentliche Wachstumshindernis sind die schädliche österreichische Luftverkehrsabgabe in Höhe von 12 € und die hohen Gebühren des Flughafens Wien, die seit Covid um 30 % gestiegen sind.
Würde diese Steuer in Höhe von 12 € abgeschafft (wie in Schweden, der Slowakei, Ungarn und Teilen Italiens), die Flugsicherungsgebühren um 50 % gesenkt (wie in der Slowakei) und die Flughafengebühren auf das Niveau vor Covid reduziert, würde Ryanair 1 Milliarde US-Dollar investieren, um das Passagieraufkommen in den nächsten fünf Jahren um 70 % zu steigern – von 7 Millionen auf über 12 Millionen Passagiere jährlich bis 2030 – und das alles ohne eine dritte Start- und Landebahn.. Wien sollte seine bestehende Infrastruktur nutzen, um seine Wettbewerbsfähigkeit wiederherzustellen und ein starkes, nachhaltiges Wachstum zu erzielen, von dem Verbraucher, Tourismus und die österreichische Wirtschaft profitieren.“
