Ryanair Donates €100,000 To Jack & Jill Foundation

26 Jun 2018

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite low fares airline, today (25 Jun) made a €100,000 donation to the Irish charity The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, the latest in a series of charities to receive support from Ryanair’s “Fly to Win” scratchcards.

Ryanair’s scratchcards are very popular with customers who can win prizes of cash, luxury cars, or scoop a cool €1 million – all for a stake of just €2, which funds numerous charity donations across Portugal and Europe.

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding, to families of children up to the age of five who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. They also provide end of life care to all children up to the age of five.  Ryanair has supported the Jack & Jill Foundation for over 10 years, donating over €600,000 to the charity in this time.

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said:

Ryanair is delighted to continue to support the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation who we have worked with for more than 10 years. Our crew are passionate about supporting the work that the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation do, and this €100,000 brings to over €600,000 our total donations to the charity so far.  The Jack & Jill Foundation is one of many across Europe to receive ongoing donations from Ryanair’s scratchcards, where customers can win some fantastic prizes while helping out many great causes.”

Carmel Doyle, acting CEO of Jack & Jill:

On behalf of the 355 families under the Jack & Jill Foundation’s wing today, I would like to say a huge big thank you to Ryanair for the €100,000 donation which will fund 6,250 hours of home nursing care and respite.  Our home nursing care service is provided to sick children across the country from birth to 5 years and it operates 365 days a year with no means test or waiting list.  Our nurses give the family a break from the 24/7 caring to sleep, go for a walk, or take the other children to the park for a few hours.  This Ryanair partnership helps us to raise awareness as well as vital funds and it also reminds Jack & Jill families that they don’t walk this difficult care journey alone.  Thank you Ryanair.
