Ryanair donates €30,000 to Refugio Aboim Ascensão

28 Feb 2018

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite low fares airline, today (28 Feb) made a €30,000 donation to the Portuguese charity Refugio Aboim Ascensão, the latest in a series of charities to receive support from Ryanair’s “Fly to Win” scratchcards.

Ryanair’s scratchcards are very popular with customers who can win prizes of cash, luxury cars, or scoop a cool €1 million – all for a stake of just €2, which funds numerous charity donations across Portugal and Europe.

Refugio Aboim Ascensão is based in Faro, and runs a temporary Emergency Reception Centre for vulnerable children.

Ryanair’s Head of Retail Aoife Greene said:

“Ryanair is delighted to continue to support Refugio Aboim Ascensão who we have had a relationship with for over 3 years. Our crew are passionate about supporting the work that Refugio Aboim Ascensão do. The charity is one of many across Europe to receive ongoing donations from Ryanair’s scratchcards, where customers can win some fantastic prizes while helping out many great causes.”

Refugio Aboim Ascensão’s Dr. Luis Villas Boas and head of fundraising, Carla Pargana said:

“We would like to send you 95 kisses on behalf of the Children! We were very surprised with the amount of the donation and because our budget is sustained by the kindness of you all, it will be so useful for our tiny Children’s lives . We are so grateful to all of the Ryanair staff for their hard work and giving us this kind of support. It was a very enjoyable visit. You are welcome to come back! Warm Regards!”
