CHILDLINE CHARITY PARTNERSHIP WITH RYANAIR ‘TAKES OFF’ FOR 2017

Ryanair, Europe’s No 1 airline, today (6 Mar) renewed its charity partnership with ISPCC Childine, which will be its chosen charity partner for 2017.  ISPCC Childline provides a 24 hour listening service, which empowers children using telephone, online and text services.

90% of ISPCC Childline funding is raised through corporate and individual donations and this partnership will allow Ryanair to support this worthy cause through a number of fundraising initiatives over the next year.  Ryanair donated over €100,000 to ISPCC Childline in 2016, and looks forward to continuing its partnership during the coming year.

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kenny Jacobs said:

“We are very pleased to continue our partnership with ISPCC Childline, our chosen charity partner for 2017 and we look forward to launching a number of initiatives over the next 12 months to raise more funds for this very worthy cause, which does so much invaluable work to help children in need. Customers will be able to continue supporting this partnership both online and offline and we look forward to making it another year to remember for Childline in 2017.”

ISPCC Chief Executive, Grainia Long said:

“We would like to thank the incredible team at Ryanair for all their hard work supporting the ISPCC in 2016 and for choosing us to be their charity partner once again in 2017. This partnership raises vital funds and awareness for Childline, which operates a 24-hour helpline for children throughout Ireland needing to talk to a trusted adult.

Childline has conversations with over 400,000 children each year. Children contact Childline for many reasons – they may be experiencing bullying, feel lonely or anxious or they may just want to talk something through. When children contact the Childline service, they are seeking a listening ear and often feel they have nowhere else to turn. We would like to thank Ryanair for helping to ensure we can answer every call, day and night.”
