Ryanair To Host “Hackathon” Event In Madrid

Tech Open Days 20th & 21st January At Travel Labs Spain

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (9 Jan) launched its first Spanish “Hackathon” event, which will take place at Ryanair Travel Labs Spain’s offices in Madrid on 20th & 21st January.

Taking place across both days at Ryanair Labs’ state-of-the-art facilities in central Madrid, Ryanair will open up access to its core API’s to the best and brightest developers and invite them to show what they can do with technology – and win some fantastic prizes.

Anyone interested in attending should register at developer.ryanair.com, or by emailing hackathon@ryanair.com

Ryanair’s Chief Technology Officer, John Hurley said:

“We’re excited to throw open our core technology API’s to talented developers with this “Hackathon”, and to see what they can do.  The challenge is to be creative – we want to see apps that solve real world corporate challenges, with some amazing prizes on offer for the Hackathon winners.

Our state-of-the-art Travel Labs Madrid is already home to 50 of the best digital and IT professionals in Europe, and we will grow our workforce to 250 this year, so if you are an ambitious and talented developer, this is the perfect time to show us what you can do.”
