RYANAIR CELEBRATES 20 MILLION PASSENGERS AT CORK AIRPORT

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (1 August) celebrated over 20 million passengers through Cork Airport since it began operations to/from Cork in 1987. Ryanair has a proud history in regional Ireland and was the first low-cost airline to operate at Cork Airport and has grown from a single route to/from London Luton to a 33-route operation connecting 9 countries across Europe, underpinned by Ryanair’s 4 Cork based aircraft – an investment of $400 million and supporting over 120 highly paid aviation jobs and over 1,700 local jobs at Cork Airport.

This Summer Ryanair is operating its biggest ever schedule at Cork Airport with almost 300 weekly flights across 33 routes, including 5 new routes to Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Rhodes and Zadar, providing customers with unbeatable choice at the lowest fares when booking their Summer ’24 getaways while driving invaluable inbound tourism for Cork at the same time.

Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan said:

“We are proud to mark this milestone of over 20 million passengers through Cork Airport. This significant milestone resounds Ryanair’s continued growth and investment at Cork Airport – an investment of over $400m, as well as supporting over 120 highly paid aviation jobs and over 1,700 local jobs at Cork Airport.

This Summer we are operating our biggest ever schedule to/from Cork Airport with almost 300 weekly flights across 33 routes, including Ryanair’s 5 new summer sunshine routes to Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Rhodes and Zadar. We look forward to carrying millions more passengers on Ryanair’s low-fare flights to/from Cork over the years to come.”
