RYANAIR ANNOUNCES BIGGEST EVER SUMMER 2026 SCHEDULE IN EMILIA‑ROMAGNA
RECORD GROWTH AT FORLÌ, PARMA AND RIMINI FOLLOWING REGION’S DECISION TO SCRAP THE €6.50 MUNICIPAL TAX
Ryanair, Europe and Italy’s No.1 airline, today (Thurs, 18 June) announced its biggest ever Summer 2026 schedule in Emilia‑Romagna, with over 5.3 million seats across the region (+5%). Following the Region’s decision to scrap the €6.50 Municipal Tax at Forlì, Parma and Rimini airports from 1 Jan ’26, Ryanair will deliver 700,000 passengers (+50%), 9 new routes, and support over 445 total jobs at Emilia Romagna’s regional airports.
This move by President De Pascale to remove the Municipal Tax at Forlì, Parma and Rimini has enabled Ryanair to rebalance growth across the Region developing these 3 emerging gateways, supplemented by a record schedule in Bologna. The result is more routes, more tourism and stronger year‑round connectivity for the whole of Emilia‑Romagna.
Ryanair’s record S26 schedule in Emilia Romagna will deliver:
- Over 7m passenger p.a.
- Over 5m passengers S26 (+5%)
- 83 Total routes:
- 63 in Bologna inc. 1 new to Castellon.
- 3 in Forli’, incl. 2 new to Cagliari and London Stansted
- 5 in Parma, incl. 3 new to Tirana, Reggio Calabria, and London Stansted
- 12 in Rimini, incl. 4 new to Wroclaw, Manchester, Cologne, and Catania
- 250k+ additional seats p.a. (+50%) in regional Emilia-Romagna
- 700k+ passengers p.a. (+50%) in regional Emilia-Romagna
Emilia‑Romagna is now the fifth Italian Region – after Abruzzo, Calabria, Friuli‑Venezia Giulia and Sicily – to abolish this regressive passenger tax, boosting tourism and jobs. Ryanair again calls on the Italian Government to follow these pro‑growth Regions and scrap the Municipal Tax at all Italian airports. If the Municipal Tax is completely abolished across Italy, then Ryanair is ready to deliver major growth, including 40 additional aircraft, a US$4bn investment, 20m additional passengers p.a., 250 new routes and 15,000 new jobs.
To celebrate this record growth in Forli’, Parma, and Rimini, Ryanair has launched a seat sale with fares from €29.99 to travel available from today for booking via the Ryanair App (subject to availability).
Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson, said:
“As Europe’s and Italy’s No.1 airline, Ryanair is delighted to announce our biggest ever Summer schedule in Emilia-Romagna, with a record 5.3 million seats (+5%) across the Region. This includes significant expansion at Forli, Parma and Rimini, where we will deliver over 700,000 passengers this year and 9 new routes – 2 from Forli to Cagliari and London Stansted, 3 from Parma to Tirana, Reggio Calabria, and London Stansted & 4 from Rimini to Wroclaw, Manchester, Cologne, and Catania. This growth follows Emilia-Romagna’s decision to scrap the €6.50 Municipal Tax at Forlì, Parma and Rimini airports from 1 Jan 2026.
President de Pascale’s pro-growth decision will deliver more low fares, more routes, more tourism opportunities and stronger connectivity for Emilia-Romagna. We now call on the Italian Government to follow Abruzzo, Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli‑Venezia Giulia and Sicily’s example, and scrap the Municipal Tax at all Italian airports. This would allow Ryanair to deliver even more growth for Italy, including 40 additional aircraft, a US$4bn investment, 20m extra passengers p.a., over 250 new routes and 15,000 new jobs across the country.”
