RYANAIR HIRES OVER 800 PILOTS IN FIRST 9 MONTHS OF 2017
210 NEW PILOTS JOIN IN LAST 12 WEEKS
Ryanair today (6 Oct) confirmed it had hired 210 new pilots in the past 12 weeks, bringing to 822 pilots that have joined Ryanair since 1st Jan this year.
Ryanair has also set a new training record with 200 pilots completing their ‘touch and go’ landing and take-offs in just 17 days, between 18th Sept and 5th Oct. These pilots will now receive their ‘Wings’ and be released to line flying in the month of October.
Ryanair’s Chief Pilot, Ray Conway said:
“As Europe’s largest airline, Ryanair continues to hire and train the best pilots on a weekly basis, as we expand our fleet and our world class team of pilots. The ladies and gentlemen that fly for Ryanair are the best in the business and it’s no surprise that we continue to attract hundreds of pilot applicants from other airlines, who join Ryanair for our industry leading pay, excellent working conditions, unrivalled career progression and brand new aircraft.
Each Thursday, our latest recruits receive their ‘Wings’ at our Dublin Offices and I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming over 800 new pilots to our airline this year so far, with 210* joining in the past 12 weeks alone. I look forward to welcoming many more as we grow our route network, fleet and passengers numbers over the coming months and years.”
