RYANAIR SEPT OTA SURVEY SHOWS EDREAMS, TIX & VOLA ARE OVERCHARGING CUSTOMERS BY UP TO 125% MORE THAN RYANAIR PRICES
09 Sep 2025
Ryanair today (Tue, 9 Sept) released its Sept OTA Survey, which again exposes OTAs, such as eDreams, Tix & Vola, for overcharging customers up to 125% over Ryanair’s prices. These OTAs, who do not have agreements with Ryanair because they wish to continue overcharging consumers, (with eDreams the biggest overcharger), selling a reserved seat that costs just €8 on Ryanair.com for €18 – an overcharge of 125%. eDreams is also charging its customers €25.72 for a 10kg bag which costs just €12.09 on Ryanair, an overcharge of more than double Ryanair’s website prices.
Ryanair continues to campaign to protect EU consumers from harmful practices used by OTAs such as eDreams, Tix & Vola. Ryanair urges EU Govts and Consumer Protection Authorities to take action, and demand for mandatory transparency in OTA pricing, in line with the transparent price policy upheld by Ryanair’s “Approved OTA” partners.Despite repeated warnings, many of Europe’s Consumer Agencies and Ministers continue to ignore the consumer harm caused by these overcharging OTAs. It is extraordinary that eDreams – a Spanish OTA – continues to overcharge its unsuspecting Spanish customers while Spain’s useless Consumer Minister, Pablo Bustinduy fails to take any action to defend and protect them.
Ryanair’s Dara Brady said:
“Ryanair September OTA survey shows that eDreams, Tix & Vola (among others) continue to harm unsuspecting consumers with substantial overcharges, of more than double Ryanair website prices. Yet EU Govts and Consumer Protection Authorities, most notably Spain’s useless Consumer Minister Bustinduy does nothing to prevent this harm to thousands of Spanish consumers.
We continue to call on EU Govts and Consumer Protection Authorities to take urgent action against these OTA overcharges, which are causing real harm to consumers all over Europe and particularly in Spain where the overcharging OTA, eDreams, has a large footprint and is harming thousands of consumers.”

21M RYANAIR PASSENGERS SUFFER DELAYS / CANCELLATIONS IN 2025 DUE TO ATC FAILURE & STAFF SHORTAGES
03 Sep 2025
RYANAIR CALLS ON EU COMM & PRESIDENT URSULA VON DERLAYED AGAINTO EXPLAIN WHY SHE HAS ALLOWED ANOTHER SUMMER OF RECORD ATC DELAYS
Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Wed, 3 Sept) called on EU Comm President, Ursula von “Derlayed-Again”, and certain EU Govts to explain why they have allowed another Summer of record ATC failures, which delayed or cancelled the travel plans of over 21m Ryanair passengers so far this year.
This call comes as Ryanair released its August “ATC Delays League”, which again shows that France, Spain, Germany, UK, and Greece are the worst ATCs for delays / cancellations because their Govts refuse to ensure their ATC services are properly staffed and managed.
There is no excuse for these failing ATCs to cause so many flight delays and passenger disruptions, when many other EU ATCs like, Bulgaria, Denmark, Slovakia, Netherlands, Belgium are delivering an efficient ATC service (without mismanagement or staff shortages).
Ryanair has long called for the EU to reform its failing ATC services to ensure they are fully staffed but the EU Commission keeps ignoring the continuing ATC mismanagement and staff shortages. Ryanair invites all passengers to visit the ‘Air Traffic Control Ruined Your Flight’ webpage and demand that the EU Comm President & National Transport Ministers take urgent action to fully staff their national ATC services, which would eliminate 90% of ATC delays.
Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:
“Yet another month of ATC mismanagement has passed in August with zero action to fix these failing ATC services by those responsible – the EU Commission and National Transport Ministers. Europe’s worst performing ATCs in France, Spain, Germany, the UK, and Greece continue to inflict avoidable delays and cancellations on thousands of flights and millions of Ryanair passengers due to their inexplicable mismanagement and short staffing.
This failing ATC mismanagement in France, Spain & Germany is exposed by other efficient ATCs in Bulgaria, Denmark, Slovakia, Netherlands, and Belgium who continue to deliver Europe’s most efficient ATC services. This proves that well-managed, properly staffed ATC is not just possible but is already being delivered by many EU States. So why can’t France, Spain, Germany, the UK, and Greece do the same? The answer is: they can, but as complacent, protected State monopolies, they have no incentive to care about delays or passengers. If they did, they would ensure their ATC services are fully staffed and efficiently managed.
It is inexcusable that passengers and airlines continue to pay hefty fees for failing ATC services. Ryanair calls on the EU Commission and EU Transport Ministers of France, Spain, Germany, the UK, and Greece to take immediate action. Ryanair also calls on passengers to join Ryanair’s campaign and have their say by visiting the ‘Air Traffic Control Ruined Your Flight’ webpage and demand real reform of these failing ATC providers in France, Germany, Spain, the UK and Greece.”

RYANAIR CALLS ON URSULA VON “DERLAYED-AGAIN” TO PROTECT OVERFLIGHTS DURING ATC STRIKES AS FIRST TWO DAYS OF BELGRADE ATC STRIKES (20-21 AUG) DISRUPT 99 FLIGHTS & 17,800 PASSENGERS OVER
22 Aug 2025
Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Fri, 22 Aug) called on EU Commission President, Ursula von “Derlayed-Again”, to urgently reform Europe’s broken ATC system and ensure the protection of overflights, after 99 flights were delayed, disrupting 17,800 EU passengers, during the first two days (20-21 Aug) of Belgrade ATC’s 40-day strike.
Earlier this week, Belgrade ATC announced a 40-day strike, starting from Wed, 20 Aug. In addition to flights to/from Serbia being delayed, this strike will also disrupt overflights. This is because Serbia’s minimum service laws do not protect overflights during national ATC strikes, unlike in other countries such as Italy, Spain, and Greece. As a result, even though it’s Belgrade ATC that are striking, most disrupted passengers are not even flying to/from Serbia but just overflying Serbian airspace en route to their destination (e.g., Poland – Greece, UK – Turkey, etc.).
This is completely unfair and highlights the need to protect EU passenger flights from being unnecessarily disrupted by national ATC strikes, just because they happen to cross that airspace. Ryanair calls on Ursula von “Derlayed-Again” to take urgent action to protect overflights during national ATC strikes.
Ryanair’s Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said:
“It is unacceptable that EU passengers not even flying to/from Serbia but are simply overflying Serbian airspace en route to their destination are being forced to suffer unnecessary disruption as a result of Serbian ATC strikes. This is because Serbia do not protect overflights during national ATC strikes, like they do in Italy, Spain, and Greece. It makes no sense and is abundantly unfair on EU passengers and families going on holidays that just happen to pass through Serbian airspace en route to their destination.
Ryanair calls on Ursula von “Derlayed-Again” to take urgent action to protect EU passenger overflights during national ATC strikes, and protect EU passengers from repeated and avoidable ATC disruptions.“
