Ryanair Launches Rescue Fares As Wizz Air Closes Prague Base

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (19 Jan), launched €19.99/529CZK rescue fares on its Prague-Milan Bergamo route to accommodate customers affected by Wizz Air’s closure of its Prague base in June of this year.

Ryanair opened its own Prague base in October 2016 with 2 based aircraft, and has reported record bookings on its Prague summer 2018 schedule which will deliver growth of 76% at Prague and includes new summer routes to Barcelona (daily), Bologna (4 wkly), Budapest (5 wkly), Edinburgh (4 wkly), Eindhoven (4 wkly), Madrid (4 wkly), Malaga (3 wkly), Krakow (2 wkly) and London Stansted (16 wkly).

Ryanair customers can fly to and from Prague on the lowest fares, with the most on-time flights and most reliable service, and can look forward to further improvements, as Ryanair continues its “Always Getting Better” programme, which includes more new routes, new digital features, connecting flights and even more low fares.

These €19.99/529CZK rescue fares are on sale now on the Ryanair.com website, for travel between Jan and June 2018, but must be booked by midnight Tuesday (23 Jan).

Ryanair Launches New Prague Route To Paris Beauvais

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite airline, today (17 Jan) launched a new Prague route to Paris Beauvais, which will operate three times weekly, as part of its winter 2018 schedule, which will go on sale on the Ryanair.com website next month.

This is the first of Ryanair’s winter 2018 schedule announcements, and Czech consumers and visitors can enjoy even lower fares and the latest “Always Getting Better” improvements including:

– Reduced checked-in bag fees – one 25€ fee, one 20kg size

– Connecting flights at Milan, Rome & Porto

– 20 Air Europa long haul routes from Madrid on sale on Ryanair.com

– A new partnership with Erasmus Network offering students discounts & a dedicated booking platform

79% Of Ryanair Flights On Time In December

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite airline, today (16 Jan) released its December 2017 customer service statistics, which confirm that Ryanair remains Europe’s No 1 customer service airline with:

– 79%* of 52,000 flights in December arriving on-time (down 5% due to repeated snow disruptions)

– Just 3 complaints per 1,000 customers

– Less than 1 bag complaint per 3,000 customers

– Over 99% of all complaints answered within 7 days

 

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said:

“Ryanair carried 9.3 million customers in December with 79% of our 52,000 flights arriving on-time. This was down 5% on the prior year due to exceptional snow falls, leading to airport closures on the 10th, 11th and 27th of December. With our expanding route network and additional enhancements under year 4 of our “Always Getting Better” programme, Ryanair continues to deliver much more for our customers than just the lowest fares in Europe.”

Weekly Bookings Record Smashed – 3 Million Bookings In One Week For First Time In Its History

Ryanair today (15 Jan) announced that it smashed its weekly bookings record, taking over 3m bookings in one week (for the next 20-week period) for the first time in its history. This new weekly 3m bookings record is a direct result of Ryanair’s low fares and the continuing success of the “Always Getting Better” customer experience programme.

Wednesday (10 Jan) was the busiest day for bookings last week and the most popular destinations for customers included winter holidays to Lanzarote and Tenerife and city breaks to Porto, Milan and Naples.

Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said:

“We are delighted to announce this new weekly record of over 3 million bookings made on the Ryanair.com website and app last week, the equivalent of:

– 5 bookings a second
– the population of Lithuania
– the population of Madrid

New Transfers Service Powered By Cartrawler

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (4 Jan) launched Ryanair Transfers, a new transfers booking platform, powered by CarTrawler, allowing Ryanair customers to book the widest range of ground transport including taxis, chauffeur, bus, coach and rail services, all at the lowest prices on the Ryanair.com website.

Ryanair Transfers, which is now live on Ryanair.com, gives customers a direct connection to ground transport options across 33 European countries, and is the latest in a series of improvements under Ryanair’s “Always Getting Better” programme.
