Ryanair Launches S2023 Warsaw Schedule

55 Routes At Modlin (No Growth) – 5 New Routes At Chopin

Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 airline, today (7Feb) announced its biggest ever Warsaw schedule for S2023 with 55 routes to/from Modlin, as well as 5 new Chopin routes to exciting destinations such as Alicante, Brussels, Palma, Paphos and Vienna as Ryanair returns to Warsaw’s biggest airport.

Ryanair’s Warsaw S23 schedule will deliver:

  • 7 based aircraft (a $700m invest.) – at Modlin
  • 55 routes to/from Modlin
  • 5 new routes to/from Chopin
  • 3.5m pax at Warsaw p.a.
  • Supporting over 3,000 local jobs incl. 450+ direct jobs

This Summer, Ryanair will offer its Warsaw customers/visitors 60 routes at the lowest fares when they are booking their well-deserved holidays. Ryanair confirmed its return to Warsaw Chopin with 5 Summer routes, while growth at Warsaw Modlin has been blocked by PPL’s failure to modestly expand Modlin’s facilities even when Ryanair offered to fund the costs of 8 new parking stands and 4 additional boarding gates that would allow Ryanair to base more aircraft and add more routes and jobs at Modlin airport.

PPL is blocking this Modlin growth to the detriment of Warsaw’s connectivity, tourism and jobs, and once again Ryanair calls on Modlin airport’s management team, its shareholders, and local Govt to act now and work with Ryanair to expand the gates and parking stands at Modlin, which will deliver new traffic and jobs growth and drive Warsaw tourism recovery. In the meantime, Ryanair will grow at Warsaw Chopin, opening 5 new routes for Summer’23.

Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:

“As Poland’s no. 1 airline, we are pleased to announce our biggest ever Warsaw schedule for Summer’23 with 55 routes to/from Modlin and 5 new routes from Chopin to Alicante, Brussels, Palma, Paphos and Vienna.

While we have just announced our return to Warsaw Chopin with the opening of 5 new routes for Summer’23 – we regret that we cannot announce growth for Warsaw Modlin as PPL continues to block modest facilities expansion, which is limiting growth at Modlin, even when Ryanair has offered to fund the costs of 8 new parking stands and 4 additional boarding gates at Modlin, that would deliver passenger and jobs growth at Modlin airport.

Ryanair will continue to grow traffic at other airports across Poland and Europe who are actively reducing airport costs to recover lost traffic for the benefit of their local economies. We call on Modlin Airport’s management team, its shareholders, and its local Govt to act now to deliver the facilities which are now necessary to allow Ryanair to grow at Modlin for the benefit of Warsaw’s economy, tourism and jobs.

To mark the launch of our record Summer’23 schedule in Warsaw, Ryanair are launching a seat sale with 100,000 seats on sale from just 145PLN available for travel between Apr and Oct’23 which must be booked by midnight on Thursday 9 Feb only on www.Ryanair.com.”
