OVER 10 ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIPS SUPPORT RYANAIR’S DECADE OF GROWTH TO 300M PASSENGERS P.A.

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Thurs, 3 Sept) highlighted its growing investment in Portugal’s future engineers and its leading role as a key aviation employer in Portugal with more than 10 academic partnerships and collaborations now in place with Portuguese universities, polytechnics, vocational schools and Part-147 training organisations. These partnerships form a key part in Ryanair’s strategy to recruit, train and develop the next generation of aircraft engineers in Portugal as the airline grows its fleet to 800 aircraft and 300 million passengers p.a. by 2034.

Ryanair’s Engineering teams in Portugal work closely with leading institutions including Universidade do Minho – School of Engineering, UBI – Universidade da Beira Interior, Instituto Piaget and IPCA – Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, among others, providing students with opportunities within a real airline engineering environment.

Since launching its first Portuguese academic partnership in 2024, Ryanair has significantly expanded its education network, and has already welcomed 38 Engineering interns in Portugal so far in 2026. 

Unlike many airlines who complain about engineering shortages, Ryanair is actively investing in developing future talent. These partnerships provide students with practical experience on one of Europe’s youngest and most efficient aircraft fleets while creating a direct pathway into long-term careers within Ryanair Engineering.

EUROPE’S LARGEST AIRLINE ADOPTS GOOGLE CLOUD’S DATA AND AI PLATFORM – INCLUDING GEMINI ENTERPRISE AND GOOGLE WORKSPACE – SUPPORTING INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE & OPERATIONS

Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline, and Google Cloud today (Wed, 12 Aug) announced a new five-year partnership. Under the agreement, Ryanair will deploy Google Workspace and Google Cloud services to 35,000 employees across its network to support its growth to 300 million passengers p.a. by 2034. This rollout includes Gemini Enterprise – Google Cloud’s agentic AI platform designed to connect organisational data, automate workflows, and create custom AI agents. Gemini Enterprise will be used to help automate decision-making, optimise flight crew logistics, and support overall corporate productivity, while also strengthening its resilience from this new dual-cloud strategy.

2 NEW AIRCRAFT ($200M INVESTMENT), 17 NEW ROUTES, & 5.3M LOW FARE SEATS

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Thurs, 6 Aug) announced its biggest ever Winter schedule in Morocco, offering 5.3m low-fares seats to/from 156 destinations, including 17 exciting new routes. These include new connections from Rabat to major European cities such as Stockholm and Krakow, from Marrakesh to Wroclaw, and from Agadir to Milan, Nuremberg, Bratislava and Gdansk.

Ryanair’s record Winter 2026 schedule will connect Morocco with 14 countries, giving millions of European visitors the opportunity to discover the Kingdom’s imperial cities, Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines, Atlas Mountains and desert landscapes while enjoying year-round sunshine. This record schedule is underpinned by the opening of Ryanair’s new Rabat base – its 5^th in Morocco – and flights across 13 Moroccan airports, delivering enhanced connectivity, inbound tourism and economic growth to communities across the Kingdom, including Fez, Tetouan, Essaouira, Ouarzazate, Dakhla and Nador.

Ryanair’s Record Morocco Winter 2026 Schedule will deliver:

• 5.3m low fare seats – providing an additional +580k (+12%) vs. last Winter.
• 156 routes – 17 new routes incl. Rabat-Stockholm, Marrakesh-Wroclaw, and Agadir-Milan.  
• 16 based aircraft – 2 new at Rabat – representing a total inward investment of US$1.6bn.
• Supporting over 8,500 local jobs (incl. 480 highly paid pilots and cabin crew jobs).

REAFFIRMING RYANAIR’S ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON PASSENGER MISCONDUCT

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Thurs, 6 Aug) welcomed the decision of the District Court for Poznań–Grunwald and Jeżyce to convict a passenger who disrupted flight FR954 from Palma de Mallorca to Poznań on 8 June 2025. This passenger was found guilty and received a fine of PLN 3,000 as well being ordered to pay PLN 2,500 directly to the affected crew member.

Ryanair is committed to ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment free of unnecessary disruption caused by a tiny number of unruly passengers. Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take action to combat unruly passenger behaviour on aircraft for the benefit of the vast majority of passengers who do not disrupt flights.

Ryanair’s Jade Kirwan said:

“We welcome the decision of the District Court for Poznań–Grunwald and Jeżyce to convict this disruptive passenger and order him to pay a PLN 3,000 fine to the Court, as well as a PLN 2,500 payment to the affected crew member.

This demonstrates just one of the many consequences (including travel bans and offload fines) that passengers who disrupt flights will face as part of Ryanair’s zero tolerance policy. We hope this conviction will further deter disruptive behaviour on flights so that both passengers and crew can travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment.”

HIGH COURT REJECTS EDREAMS’ ATTEMPT TO AVOID IRISH COURTS

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (22 Jul) welcomed a High Court ruling rejecting Edreams’ challenge to the Irish courts’ jurisdiction, which now allows Ryanair’s case, to stop Edreams screenscraping Ryanair.com and overcharging customers, to proceed.

The victory follows an earlier High Court order under which Edreams gave a permanent undertaking not to access Ryanair’s Travel Agent Direct (“TAD”) platform, after Ryanair uncovered Edreams unauthorised use of the system to resell Ryanair flights at inflated prices.

While Edreams continues to reject Ryanair’s transparency standards, other approved OTA partners including Booking.com, Lastminute and Kiwi benefit from direct access to Ryanair’s low fares under distribution agreements that provide full price transparency for their customers.

Ryanair’s spokesperson said:

“We welcome this High Court victory for Ryanair and our customers over Edreams. Edreams’ attempt to avoid the Irish courts has failed, and our case to stop Edreams screenscraping Ryanair.com and overcharging consumers will now proceed.

Ryanair has already secured a permanent High Court undertaking preventing Edreams from accessing our Travel Agent Direct platform after it was found reselling Ryanair flights without permission.

We will continue to protect consumers from overcharging and ensure access to the lowest fares through approved travel agent partners. If Edreams wants direct access to Ryanair fares, it can simply agree to the same transparency standards already accepted by Booking.com, Lastminute, Kiwi and many others.”
