OVER 1 MILLION RYANAIR PASSENGERS DELAYED BY GREEK ATC MISMANAGEMENT & STAFF SHORTAGES SO FAR IN 2025
RYANAIR CALLS ON TRANSPORT MINISTER DIMAS TO FIX GREECE’S ATC SERVICE
Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Tue, 16 Sept) called on Transport Minister, Christos Dimas, to urgently fix Greece’s mismanaged and short-staffed ATC service, which has disrupted over 6,200 Ryanair flights and over 1 million Ryanair passengers so far this year (1 Jan – 15 Sept).

Transport Ministers – like Minister Dimas – are responsible for their national ATC services. They should be making sure that they are properly managed and staffed, particularly in peak Summer season, not presiding over repeated ATC delays. Ryanair calls on its Greek passengers to visit the ‘Air Traffic Control Ruined Your Flight’ webpage and demand that Minister Dimas takes action to properly staff Greek ATC services and avoid further unnecessary ATC delays.
Ryanair Chief Marketing Officer, Dara Brady said:
“It is unacceptable that Greek ATC mismanagement and staff shortages continue to cause disruption to Greek flights and passengers. Already this year (1 Jan – 15 Sept), more than 1 million Ryanair passengers – many of whom were travelling on holidays with young families – have suffered unnecessary and avoidable ATC delays, and all because Minister Dimas has not taken action to properly staff Greece’s ATC services.
Ryanair calls on all passengers to visit the ‘Air Traffic Control Ruined Your Flight’ webpage and demand that their national Transport Minister – like Minister Dimas – take urgent action to fix their national ATC services and stop these needless ATC delays.”
