P.M. ROBERT ABELA OPENS RYANAIR’S NEW MALTA OFFICE

RYANAIR CREATES 70 NEW JOBS BRINGING TOTAL TO OVER 500 JOBS

Ryanair, Malta’s largest airline group, today (4th Sept), welcomed Prime Minister Robert Abela to officially open its new 700m Malta Office. This new office marks Ryanair’s continued investment in the island, which will allow Ryanair to create up to 70 HQ new jobs bringing its total Malta’s workforce to over 500 highly skilled professionals in finance, safety, HR, as well as pilots, cabin crew and engineers.

Ryanair is the first European airline to carry 200M guests per year, and 2025 will be a record year for Malta during which Ryanair will operate 68 routes and carry 5 million passengers. This Winter, Ryanair will base one additional B737 aircraft in Malta, meaning an extra $100M investment, with 9 total aircraft and a $900m investment. Additionally, Ryanair will operate 57 routes, including the launch of 6 new Winter routes to Glasgow, Gothenburg, Luxembourg, Newcastle, Norwich and Palma.

“We are delighted that the Prime Minister Abela has officially opened Ryanair’s new Malta office today, and also to announce 70 new jobs as we grow our Malta workforce to over 500 highly skilled aviation professionals in finance, IT, HR, pilots, cabin crew and engineers. Ryanair’s record year in Malta will deliver 68 routes, 5M passengers, and a $800M investment in 8 Malta based B737 aircraft. With over 200 Ryanair aircraft on the Malta register, our commitment to Malta has never been stronger.

This Winter, Ryanair will base one additional B737 aircraft in Malta, with 9 in total. Additionally, we will operate 56 routes, including the launch of 6 new Winter routes to Glasgow, Gothenburg, Luxembourg, Newcastle, Norwich and Palma.

As Malta’s largest airline group, we are also investing heavily in simulator management, aircraft leasing, and maintenance operations, solidifying Malta’s position as a centre of European aviation excellence. Ryanair’s new Malta office opening marks yet another milestone in Ryanair’s long-term commitment to Malta and we will keep investing in, and growing the Maltese economy, tourism, and jobs in Malta for many more years to come.”
