RYANAIR ANNOUNCES 1 NEW AIRCRAFT, 5 NEW ROUTES & 30 NEW JOBS AT CORK AIRPORT FOR WINTER 23/24

Ryanair, Ireland’s No. 1 airline, today (Tues 12th Sept) launched its Winter 23/24 schedule for Cork with 23 routes incl. 5 exciting new routes to Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Paris, Seville and Treviso, and increased frequencies on another 6 winter sun routes to Faro, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Malaga, Rome and Tenerife. Ryanair will base 1 new B737 aircraft at Cork (3 tot.) for Winter 23/24 – another $100m investment creating over 30 new high paid jobs for pilots, cabin crew and engineers.

Ryanair’s Winter 23/24 Cork Airport schedule delivers:

  • 3 based aircraft (invest. of $300m in Cork)
  • 23 routes, incl. 5 new – Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Paris, Seville & Treviso
  • Increased freq. on 6 routes – Faro, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Malaga, Rome & Tenerife
  • Supp. over 1,600 local jobs, incl. 90 highly paid aviation professional jobs
  • Annual traffic to grow to 2.3m pax p.a.

Ryanair is Cork’s No. 1 airline operating 23 routes and carrying 2.3m passengers p.a. to/from Cork Airport, providing customers in Munster and South-Leinster with unbeatable choice at the lowest fares. This unrivalled Cork growth (+15% vs. FY23) is not only underpinned by Ryanair’s $300m investment (3 based aircraft) and support of over 90 high pay crew and engineering jobs but driven by Cork Airport’s long-term commitment to maintain competitive airport charges, providing the cost certainty for airlines, like Ryanair, to invest and grow in the region.

Ryanair has led Europe’s post-Covid recovery throughout Europe operating at 130% pre-Covid levels and through the airline’s continued growth and investment, Cork Airport will fully recover its pre-Covid traffic this year – 2 years sooner than expected. Ryanair’s growing traffic to/from Cork Airport provides Cork and the wider Munster/ South-Leinster regions with invaluable inbound tourism, jobs, and local business support, particularly in the off-peak Winter season.

To celebrate its new based aircraft and 5 new routes at Cork Airport this Winter, Ryanair has launched a 2-day seat sale with fares from €24.99 available only on Ryanair’s website/app.
