Ryanair Customers Help Airline To Make €100,000 Scratch Card Donation To The Jack & Jill Foundation
Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 airline, today (14 Feb) presented a €100,000 donation to Ryanair’s Irish scratch card charity, The Jack & Jill foundation. Ryanair has supported the Jack & Jill Foundation for over 11 years, donating over €800,000 to the charity during this partnership.
The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding to families of children up to the age of five who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. They also provide end of life care to all children up to the age of five.
Ryanair scratch cards offer customers the opportunity to win cash prizes, luxury cars and the chance to scoop an impressive €1 million – all for a stake of just €2, with ongoing donations made to numerous charities across Ireland and Europe.
Carmel Doyle, CEO of the Jack & Jill Foundation said:
“How lucky are we as a charity to have Ryanair as our partner and to receive this huge donation of €100,000 which will fund 6,250 hours of home nursing care for the 350 families under our wing! I want to thank everyone involved, especially the cabin crew who champion and sell these charity scratch cards on our behalf, and always give such a lovely shout out to the charity, raising both awareness and funds for us. Our families are on a difficult journey, day in day out, caring for their sick child at home and knowing that such an iconic brand as Ryanair is in their corner really matters.”
Aoife Greene, Ryanair’s Head of Retail, added:
“Carmel and her team of nurses and fundraisers are magnificent and their dedication to providing homecare nationwide means everything to the children and their families. Every €16 donated funds one hour of nursing care and this service is vital to our community here in Ireland. Ryanair is very proud of our partnership with Jack and Jill and we are committed to continuing it well into the future. Customers who buy Ryanair’s scratch cards are also helping a wide range of charities across Europe, who receive ongoing donations, such as Naomi House & Jacksplace in the UK, Pequeño Deseo in Spain, Refúgio Aboim Ascensão in Portugal, The Meyer hospital in Italy and Kinder Hilfe in Germany. Look out for our scratch cards on your next Ryanair flight and you could be our next winner.”
