RYANAIR EXPANDS IN OSTRAVA WITH SUMMER ‘25 SCHEDULEAND NEW ROUTE TO BARCELONA-GIRONA
Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today celebrated the announcement of its exciting Summer ‘25 schedule for Ostrava, offering three fantastic routes, including a brand-new connection to Barcelona-Girona. This expansion represents a significant 40% increase in weekly flights compared to Summer ‘24, reinforcing Ryanair’s commitment to growth in regional Czechia.
Ryanair’s Ostrava Summer ‘25 schedule will deliver:
- 1 new route – Barcelona-Girona (2x weekly)
- 3 routes in total – London Stansted, Malaga, and Barcelona-Girona
- A major 40% increase in weekly flights vs. Summer ‘24
This expanded schedule will provide Ostrava’s citizens and visitors with even more low-cost travel options, boosting inbound tourism and supporting local jobs. Whether planning a city break in London, a beach getaway to Malaga, or exploring the stunning Catalan coast via Barcelona-Girona, Ryanair’s Summer ‘25 schedule offers unbeatable value.
Ryanair’s Head of Comms for CEE & Baltics, Alicja Wójcik-Gołębiowska, said:
“As Europe’s biggest airline, Ryanair is delighted to continue expanding in regional Czechia with our Summer ‘25 schedule in Ostrava, offering three routes, including our exciting new service to Barcelona-Girona. This expansion represents a 40% increase in weekly flights, providing even more choice at the lowest fares for our customers in Ostrava.
To celebrate, we are launching today a special 3-day seat sale with seats available from just 1590 CZK for travel until July at www.ryanair.com.”
Ondřej Musil, Commercial Director of Ostrava Airport, a.s., added:
“We are very pleased that Ryanair is expanding its operations from our airport. It is clear that our region has great potential, and the number of passengers on these routes continues to grow. Moreover, the airport’s catchment area is also expanding – increasingly, passengers from the Olomouc region and even from Slovakia are choosing to depart from Ostrava Airport. The London route is one of the most popular destinations from Ostrava Airport, as evidenced by Ryanair’s decision to increase the number of rotations – starting in April, passengers can fly to London four times a week. Growing interest is also visible in the Málaga route, which immediately gained popularity upon its launch last year and was heavily utilized throughout the entire operating season. We are therefore delighted that this year we can commence operations at the end of March, providing travelers with a longer period to explore Andalusia. Additionally, a brand-new route to Girona has been introduced, offering not only the opportunity to visit this stunning historical city but also an easy connection to Barcelona.”
Radek Podstawka, Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region for Transport, said:
“We are delighted with the growing offer of Ostrava Airport, as this season, travelers had direct flights to nearly 30 destinations. Twenty-five charter routes are complemented by four scheduled connections, and I am convinced that people will embrace Girona just as they did with Málaga. Girona is known not only as a historic city with beautiful architecture but also as a paradise for cyclists thanks to its extensive network of trails. The route will surely attract art lovers as well, as Girona is close to the Dalí Triangle, which includes his house, museum, and castle—must-visit locations for Dalí fans on their travel itinerary. I wish all travelers safe and enjoyable flights!”
