RYANAIR FEB SURVEY AGAIN EXPOSES EDREAMS, VOLA & BOOKING.COM OVERCHARGING CONSUMERS (109% OVER RYANAIR PRICES)

Ryanair today (Tues, 11 Feb) released its February OTA Survey, which shows remaining OTAs eDreams, Vola and Booking.com continue to overcharge consumers by 109% over Ryanair prices. eDreams continues to impose the highest mark-up, overcharging more than double the price (€20.90) for a reserved seat that costs just €10.00 on Ryanair.com. Vola overcharged consumers (€16.50) for a reserved seat that cost just €8.00 on Ryanair’s website (106%), while Booking.com was overcharging consumers up to 17% for reserved seats that are cheaper when booked directly on an airline’s website as set out below.

Ryanair has campaigned to protect consumers from these few remaining overcharging OTAs, like eDreams, Vola and Booking.com, and continues to call on EU Govts and Consumer Authorities to demand these outlier OTAs, offer consumers transparent pricing, just like Ryanair’s “Approved OTA” partners do.

Ryanair’s Dara Brady said:

“Our February survey once again exposes the few remaining OTAs like eDreams, Vola, and Booking.com, who continue to overcharge consumers with harmful mark-ups of over 109% over Ryanair prices, or inflated prices over and above air fares and reserved seating that are far cheaper when booked directly with the operating airline website, as shown above.

Ryanair continues its campaign to protect consumers from these OTA overcharges and calls on EU Govts and Consumer Authorities to prohibit these OTAs from doing so – we need action now to outlaw this non-transparent OTA overcharging.”
