Alicja Wójcik-Gołębiowska, Country Manager Ryanair CEE & Baltics said:

“As Europe’s no. 1 airline, Ryanair is pleased to announce our first ever schedule for Iasi, with over 25 weekly flights across 4 routes to Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, Milan & Paris, offering Iasi citizens/visitors even more choice for their summer holidays at the lowest fares in Europe.

Jassy, the 3rd biggest city in Romania is important cultural and scientific centre. We are certain new direct routes will not only allow more convenient travelling for citizens of Jassy and the region, but will also inspire tourists from the other end to discover this beautiful city.

Ryanair will carry over 235,000 passengers to/from Iasi this year creating over 175 local jobs as we continue to deliver more traffic, more jobs, and more low fares than any other airline in Europe.”

Romeo Vatră, General Manager of Iasi International Airport said:

“Ryanair will be the fifth airline to operate from Iasi Airport this year and we are very excited to begin a successful partnership with one of the most influential air operators in Europe. Ryanair’s decision to launch flights from Iasi is the result of our constant negotiations with the airline and a reconfirmation of our efforts to attract new airlines to support the development of the airport. The collaboration with Ryanair will be reflected in multiple travel possibilities from Iasi to modern European cities. We are confident about the expansion prospects of connectivity and the chances we have to build a strong partnership with the low-cost company that is so much awaited in Iasi. Our Airport will become the second largest in Romania after the construction of the new terminal, which will make it more attractive to our passengers and airlines alike. In terms of passenger traffic, we are ranked third among the Romanian airports, with a rapid recovery from the pandemic recession, but with the new infrastructure completed at the end of December 2023, the results will bring us higher to top as we will be able to serve 3,3 million passengers per year, twice the current capacity. Needless to emphasize the importance of Iasi Airport for the regional economic development and accessibility of the N-E region. We would like to thank Ryanair once again for the openness and interest in Iasi and for choosing us as a reliable partner.”
