  • International connections to winter sun destinations such as Malaga and city breaks to the likes of Rome, Budapest, Paris and Krakow.

Ryanair’s new base at Riga represents its commitment to Latvia and the Baltic region. Today’s announcement further demonstrates Ryanair’s ability to rebuild Latvia’s tourism industry, with over 100 weekly flights, across 35 routes (17 new) this Winter and next Summer seasons.

With 35 routes to choose from at Riga, passengers can now book a well-deserved getaway, flying at the lowest fares to exciting destinations such as Malaga, Vienna, Milan, Rome, and Helsinki.

To celebrate the opening of its new Riga base, Ryanair has launched a seat sale with fares available from just €19.99, which must be booked by Thursday 11th November, only on the Ryanair.com website.

Ryanair’s Director of Commercial, Jason McGuinness, said:

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new base in Riga (while other airlines close theirs), which will deliver increased connectivity with two based aircraft. This development will create over 60 direct jobs and offer our Latvian and Baltic customers a host of European destinations to choose from this Winter and next Summer, with over 100 weekly flights, across 35 routes (17 of which are new), connecting Latvia’s capital to the likes of Barcelona, Berlin, Helsinki, Malaga, Milan, Rome, and Vienna.

Efficient operations and competitive airport charges provide the foundation from which Ryanair can deliver long-term traffic growth and increased connectivity. We have worked closely with Riga airport to secure this growth and improve the services for those that live, work, or wish to visit the region. At a time when other airlines are reducing their workforce (and closing their bases), we’re delighted to be making further investments in both our people and in airports throughout Europe.

To celebrate, we are launching a seat sale with fares available from €19.99, which must be booked by Thursday 11th November. Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com to avoid missing out.”

Laila Odiņa, Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport said:

“Ryanair’s base in Riga is an important step for our Airport as a regional aviation hub. The wide range of routes and geography provided by Ryanair’s presence at Riga Airport will provide more opportunities for Latvian and Baltic passengers to choose exciting trips at affordable prices, while foreign tourists will benefit from more convenient opportunities to arrive in Latvia.”
