RYANAIR LAUNCHES SUMMER 2025 SCHEDULE FOR CORK INCLUDING NEW FUERTEVENTURA ROUTE

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Wed, 5 Feb) unveiled its Cork Summer 2025 schedule with 33 routes, including 1 new route to Fuerteventura, as well as increased frequencies on 14 other popular routes to/from Cork, like Alicante, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Gdansk, Girona, Liverpool, London, Malaga, Manchester, Mallorca, Paris, Reus, Seville, and Valencia. Ryanair has also added extra seats from Cork to Birmingham for the Cheltenham Festival (11-14 March) and to Rome for the highly anticipated Six Nations Rugby match between Ireland and Italy on Sat, 15 March.

This significant Ryanair traffic growth at Cork (+21%) is underpinned by Ryanair’s 4 Cork-based aircraft – including 3 new tech enviro efficient “Gamechanger” aircraft which reduce CO2 and noise emissions by 16% and 40% respectively – representing a $400m investment and supporting over 2,000 local jobs, while driving year-round tourism at the same time.

While Ryanair continues to invest and grow at regional Irish airports (+65% v pre-Covid), regional airport growth is being unfairly limited by the Govt’s Regional Airports Programme (RAP), which bizarrely penalises regional airports for exceeding 1 million passenger p.a.. Ryanair calls on the new Govt to lift this traffic cap on regional airports to 3m passengers p.a. in line with EU State Aid rules and allow Ireland’s regional airports to grow and flourish.

To celebrate the launch of Ryanair’s Summer 2025 schedule for Cork and new Fuerteventura route, the airline has launched a limited-time seat sale with fares available from just €24.99 available only at www.ryanair.com.

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Dara Brady, said:

“As Ireland and Europe’s No.1 airline, we are pleased to announce Ryanair’s Summer 2025 schedule for Cork, including our new Fuerteventura route. We have also added extra flights on another 8 routes to/from Shannon for Summer 2025, including Alicante, Edinburgh, Faro, Kaunas, Krakow, Malaga, Porto, and Reus, giving our customers in the Munster and South-Leinster regions even more choice and regular connections at the lowest fares in Europe.

We are pleased to announce 1 new Ryanair route from Cork this summer to Fuerteventura (33 total), as well as extra flights on fourteen existing routes to/from Cork. Ryanair’s Summer 2025 schedule will be operated by its four Cork-based aircraft, including three eco-efficient Gamechangers. These advanced aircraft reduce CO2 emissions by 16% and noise levels by 40%, reflecting a $400 million investment in Cork, supporting over 2,000 local jobs, boosting year-round inbound tourism.

The vast majority of this exciting Summer 2025 schedule will operate on Ryanair’s 4 Cork-based aircraft ($400m investment) and will support over 2,000 local jobs, demonstrating Ryanair’s continued commitment to invest and grow at Ireland’s regional airports. We call on the new Irish Govt to help airlines, like Ryanair, to continue to grow at regional airports by expanding the traffic scope for the 2026-2030 Regional Airports Programme to at least 3m passenger p.a., which would allow regional airports to grow traffic without being penalised for doing so.

To celebrate the launch of Ryanair’s Summer 2025 schedule and new Fuerteventura route, the airline has launched a limited-time seat sale with fares available from just €24.99 available at www.ryanair.com.”

Tara Finn, Head of Aviation Business Development & Communications at Cork Airport, added:

With 33 routes on offer this summer, Ryanair will provide direct services to a fantastic range of destinations across the UK and Europe – with something to suit all tastes. Whether it’s new adventures on a European city break in Paris, Valencia, Brussels or Gdansk; or soaking up the glorious Mediterranean summer sunshine in Alghero, Rhodes, Zadar or Faro, now is the perfect time to book your summer getaway. In addition, it is brilliant to have year-round connectivity to Fuerteventura, and increased frequencies on no less than 14 of our most popular routes. On behalf of the team at Cork Airport, I would like to thank Ryanair for their continued commitment to growth at Ireland’s fastest-growing airport.”
