RYANAIR NOVEMBER SURVEY EXPOSES VOLA & EDREAMS OVERCHARGING
FEW OTA OUTLIERS CONTINUE TO INDUCE UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS WITH HARMFUL OVERCHARGES
Ryanair today (Wed, 13 Nov) issued its November OTA Survey which exposes continuing overcharges by Vola & eDreams, as they overcharge consumers by between 25% to 50% above the Ryanair price for a 10kg bag or a reserved seat. While Vola and eDreams are spotlighted as the most egregious overcharges, a few other OTA outliers also continue to screen scrape airlines’ websites and overcharge unsuspecting customers for flights and ancillary products.
Ryanair continues to campaign to protect consumers from the few remaining overcharging OTAs, like Vola, eDreams, Booking.com, and FRU.pl, and again calls on EU Govts and consumer authorities to compel all OTAs to offer consumers transparent pricing, just like Ryanair’s “Approved OTA” partners now do.
Ryanair’s Dara Brady said:
“Our November survey again exposes the few remaining OTAs, like Vola and eDreams, who continue to induce unsuspecting consumers with harmful overcharges of between 25%-50% above Ryanair prices for bags, reserved seats, and priority boarding.
We continue to campaign to protect consumers from these few remaining overcharging OTAs, and we again call on EU governments and consumer authorities to take urgent action to outlaw these non-transparent OTA practices.”
