Ryanair Renews Childline Charity Partnership For 2020

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite airline, today (20 Feb) renewed its charity partnership with ISPCC Childline, which will be its chosen charity partner once again in 2020.  ISPCC Childline provides a 24 hour listening service, which listens to, supports and empowers children and young people through its phone, online chat and text services.

The ISPCC’s Childline service costs almost €4 million to run every year and relies on corporate and public donations for 90 per cent of its funding.  In continuing its partnership for the coming year, Ryanair will again raise vital funds for Childline through a variety of initiatives.  Ryanair has donated over €450,000 to ISPCC Childline in the first four years of the partnership and looks forward to continuing to work with ISPCC Childline for a fifth year.

Ryanair customers in Ireland can now support ISPCC Childline when booking their next flight. This €1 donation option is live on www.ryanair.com/ie, where Ryanair customers in Ireland can not only avail of the lowest fares, but will be able to support this vital service for children.

Ryanair’s Senior Communications Manager, Alejandra Ruiz said:

“We are very pleased to select ISPCC Childline as our chosen charity partner for 2020, and to continue our partnership for a fifth successive year.  Over the past four years, we have launched a number of initiatives to support ISPCC Childline, including a Name a Plane & Fly to Spain competition, a Christmas Giveaway, summer holiday competitions, and most recently a digital donation feature in the checkout process, which last year raised an astounding €25,000 for ISPCC.

We look forward to launching more great activities over the next 12 months to raise more funds for this very worthy cause, which does so much invaluable work to help children in need. Customers will be able to continue supporting this partnership both online and offline and we look forward to making it another year to remember for Childline in 2020.”

ISPCC Corporate Account Manager, Marianne O’Donoghue said:

“ISPCC Childline would like to extend sincere thanks to the fantastic team at Ryanair for the significant support it has shown the service over the past four years in raising both funds and awareness. We are hugely grateful to Ryanair for choosing to continue this partnership in 2020. Through the partnership, Ryanair has helped to ensure every child and young person in Ireland always has somewhere they can turn – at any time of the day or night, no matter what might be on their mind. With Ryanair’s support, Childline will always be here to listen.”
