RYANAIR WELCOMES DISRUPTIVE PASSENGER CONVICTION BY IRISH COURT

REAFFIRMING RYANAIR’S ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON PASSENGER MISCONDUCT

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Mon, 7 July) welcomed the Dublin District Court’s decision to convict an unruly passenger who disrupted flight FR5325 from Kosice to Dublin on 8 Sept 2024 by behaving aggressively towards crew and other passengers. This disruptive passenger pleaded guilty in court and received a 3-month suspended sentence and was ordered to pay €500 for offensive behaviour on board an aircraft as well as €650 for being intoxicated on board an aircraft.

Ryanair is committed to ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment free of unnecessary disruption caused by a tiny number of unruly passengers. Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take action to combat unruly passenger behaviour on aircraft for the benefit of the vast majority of passengers who do not disrupt flights.

A Ryanair spokesperson said:

“It is unacceptable that passengers suffer unnecessary disruption as a result of one unruly passenger’s behaviour. Yet this was regrettably the case for passengers on flight FR5325 from Kosice to Dublin on 8 Sept 2024 as a result of an individual passenger’s disruptive behaviour.

We welcome the conviction issued to this passenger by the Dublin District Court, which demonstrates just one of the many consequences that passengers who disrupt flights will face as part of Ryanair’s zero tolerance policy, and we hope this action will further deter disruptive behaviour on flights so that passengers and crew can travel in a comfortable and respectful environment.”
