RYANAIR APELA AO GOVERNO PORTUGUÊS PARA GARANTIR REFORÇO DE PESSOAL NO CONTROLO FRONTEIRIÇO E ALFÂNDEGA DO AEROPORTO DE LISBOA ANTES DO VERÃO DE 2026

A Ryanair, a companhia aérea n.º 1 da Europa, apelou hoje (sexta-feira, 17 de outubro) ao Governo português para que tome medidas imediatas no sentido de garantir um número adequado de funcionários no controlo fronteiriço e na alfândega do Aeroporto de Lisboa para o verão de 2026. Lisboa foi, de longe, o pior aeroporto em Portugal no que diz respeito a atrasos no controlo fronteiriço e alfândega neste verão, com passageiros a enfrentar filas de até 2,5 horas devido à falta de funcionários. Estes atrasos evitáveis – que prejudicam a reputação internacional de Portugal como destino turístico – não podem repetir-se no próximo verão. O Governo deve agir agora para assegurar que o controlo fronteiriço e a alfândega do Aeroporto de Lisboa estejam devidamente dotados de pessoal antes do verão de 2026, especialmente durante os períodos de maior movimento.

A Diretora de Comunicação da Ryanair, Jade Kirwan, afirmou:

“Com os passageiros que viajaram para Lisboa neste verão obrigados a suportar filas excessivas de até 2,5 horas no controlo fronteiriço e na alfândega devido à falta de funcionários, não é surpreendente que Lisboa tenha sido o pior aeroporto de Portugal em atrasos deste tipo. Esperamos que o novo Governo aprenda com os danos causados à reputação internacional de Portugal como destino turístico por estes atrasos extremos no Aeroporto de Lisboa, e que agora tome medidas para garantir que haja pessoal suficiente no controlo fronteiriço e na alfândega antes da época de verão de 2026.”

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (Wednesday, 15^th October) announced that it has reduced its German Winter ’25 capacity by over 800,000 seats and cancelled 24 routes across 9 high-cost German airports (including Berlin, Hamburg, and Memmingen), while Dortmund, Dresden, and Leipzig will remain closed. As a result, Ryanair’s overall capacity in Germany will fall below Winter ‘24 levels.

This decision is a direct result of the Federal Govt’s repeated failure to address Germany’s high access costs and the disappointing roll-back on their commitment to reverse the latest +24% aviation tax increase introduced in May ’24. This punitive aviation tax, coupled with Germany’s soaring ATC charges, excessive Security Fees, and rising airport costs have made Germany grossly uncompetitive compared to other EU countries. Germany’s sky-high access costs are in stark contrast with countries such as Ireland, Spain and Poland which have no aviation taxes, or Sweden, Hungary, and regional Italy, where aviation taxes are being scrapped alongside reduced access costs to boost traffic, tourism, jobs, and economic recovery. As a result, Germany remains among the worst recovered air traffic markets in Europe, operating at just 88% of pre-Covid levels.

Ryanair calls on the German Govt and Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder to take urgent action and reduce Germany’s excessive access costs. Without an immediate intervention, Germany will continue to fall further behind more competitive European countries into Summer ’26. However, should the Govt reverse the latest aviation tax increase (then fully abolish the tax) and reduce its spiralling access costs, Ryanair could deliver transformative growth in Germany incl. 30 additional aircraft (+US$3bn investment), doubling traffic to 34m passengers p.a., and creating over 1,000 additional jobs across Germany.

Speaking from Berlin, Ryanair’s CMO, Dara Brady, said:

“It is very disappointing that the newly elected German Government has already failed to deliver on their commitment to reduce the regressive aviation tax and sky-high access costs which are crippling Germany’s aviation sector. As a result, Ryanair has been left with no choice but to reduce our Winter ’25 capacity by over 800,000 seats and cancel 24 routes across 9 high-cost German airports (including Berlin, Hamburg, and Memmingen), in addition to maintaining our closures of Dortmund, Dresden, and Leipzig. This completely avoidable loss of connectivity will bring our capacity below Winter ’24 levels and will have a devastating impact on German connectivity, jobs, and tourism.

Germany’s air travel market is broken and needs an urgent fix. Due to its excessive access costs, Germany has only recovered 88% of its pre-Covid traffic, which is by far the worst recovery of any major European market. Until the excessive (and rising) aviation tax, ATC charges, Security Fees and airport costs are addressed by the Government, German air traffic will simply continue to declinewhilst other more competitive European countries (with no aviation taxes) benefit from turbocharged Ryanair traffic growth – at Germany’s expense.

Ryanair once again calls on Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder to take urgent action to fix Germany’s broken air transport system by reducing its high access costs which, combined with Lufthansa’s high-fare monopoly, have forced German citizens and visitors to pay the highest airfares in Europe. Ryanair stands ready and willing to bring transformative growth to Germany and, subject to the Government finally taking action to reduce access costs, could deliver an additional 30 aircraft (+US$3bn investment), double traffic to 34m passengers p.a., and support the creation of over 1,000 additional jobs across Germany.”

Oktober) bekannt, dass sie ihre deutsche Winterkapazität 2025 um über 800.000 Sitze reduziert und 24 Strecken an 9 hochpreisigen deutschen Flughäfen (darunter Berlin, Hamburg und Memmingen) gestrichen hat, während Dortmund, Dresden und Leipzig geschlossen bleiben. Infolgedessen wird Ryanairs Gesamtkapazität in Deutschland unter das Niveau des Winters 2024 fallen.

Diese Entscheidung ist eine direkte Folge des anhaltenden Unvermögens der Bundesregierung, die hohen Zugangskosten in Deutschland zu senken, und der Tatsache, dass sie ihre Ankündigung, die im Mai 2024 eingeführte Erhöhung der Luftverkehrssteuer um 24 % rückgängig zu machen, nicht umgesetzt hat. Die exorbitante Luftverkehrssteuer, in Kombination mit den stark gestiegenen Flugsicherungs-, Sicherheits- und Flughafengebühren, hat die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Deutschlands im Vergleich zu anderen EU-Ländern erheblich geschwächt. Die horrenden Zugangskosten in Deutschland stehen in starkem Gegensatz zu Ländern wie Irland, Spanien und Polen, die keine Luftverkehrssteuer erheben, oder Schweden, Ungarn und Teilen Italiens, wo Luftverkehrssteuern abgeschafft und die Zugangskosten gesenkt werden, um Verkehr, Tourismus, Arbeitsplätze und wirtschaftliche Erholung zu fördern. Infolgedessen bleibt Deutschland einer der am schlechtesten erholten Luftverkehrsmärkte Europas und liegt derzeit bei nur 88 % des Vorkrisenniveaus vor Covid.

Ryanair fordert die deutsche Bundesregierung und Verkehrsminister Patrick Schnieder auf, dringend Maßnahmen zu ergreifen und die überhöhten Zugangskosten in Deutschland zu senken. Ohne ein sofortiges Eingreifen wird Deutschland bis zum Sommer 2026 weiter hinter anderen, wettbewerbsfähigeren europäischen Ländern zurückfallen. Sollte die Regierung jedoch die jüngste Erhöhung der Luftverkehrssteuer rückgängig machen (und diese anschließend vollständig abschaffen) sowie die stetig steigenden Zugangskosten senken, könnte Ryanair in Deutschland ein erhebliches Wachstum ermöglichen – darunter die Stationierung von 30 zusätzlichen Flugzeugen (Investition von über 3 Milliarden US-Dollar), eine Verdopplung des Passagieraufkommens auf 34 Millionen Fluggäste pro Jahr und die Schaffung von mehr als 1.000 zusätzlichen Arbeitsplätzen in ganz Deutschland.

„Es ist äußerst enttäuschend, dass die neu gewählte deutsche Bundesregierung ihr Versprechen, die schädliche Luftverkehrssteuer und die enorm hohen Zugangskosten zu senken, die Deutschlands Luftfahrtsektor massiv belasten, bereits gebrochen hat. Infolgedessen blieb Ryanair keine andere Wahl, als die Winterkapazität 2025 um über 800.000 Sitze zu reduzieren und 24 Strecken an 9 kostenintensiven deutschen Flughäfen (darunter Berlin, Hamburg und Memmingen) zu streichen. Darüber hinaus bleiben Dortmund, Dresden und Leipzig geschlossen. Dieser völlig vermeidbare Verlust an Konnektivität senkt unsere Kapazität unter das Niveau des Winters 2024 und hat gravierende Auswirkungen auf die deutsche Konnektivität, Arbeitsplätze und den Tourismus.

Der deutsche Luftverkehrsmarkt ist in einer Krise und muss dringend reformiert werden. Aufgrund der überhöhten Zugangskosten hat Deutschland bislang nur 88 % seines Vorkrisenverkehrs wiedererlangt – die mit Abstand schwächste Erholung unter allen großen europäischen Märkten. Solange die Regierung die exorbitante Luftverkehrssteuer, die (weiter steigenden) Flugsicherungs-, Sicherheitsgebühren und Flughafenkosten nicht senkt, wird der deutsche Luftverkehr weiter zurückfallen, während wettbewerbsfähigere europäische Länder (ohne Luftverkehrssteuer) vom starken Verkehrswachstum Ryanairs profitieren – auf Kosten Deutschlands.

Ryanair fordert Verkehrsminister Patrick Schnieder erneut auf, dringend Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um das angeschlagene deutsche Luftverkehrssystem zu sanieren, indem die hohen Zugangskosten gesenkt werden. Diese, in Kombination mit Lufthansas Hochpreis-Monopol, zwingen deutsche Bürger und Besucher derzeit, die höchsten Flugpreise Europas zu zahlen. Ryanair ist bereit, in Deutschland ein transformatives Wachstum zu ermöglichen und – sofern die Regierung endlich handelt und die Zugangskosten reduziert – 30 zusätzliche Flugzeuge (Investition von über 3 Mrd. US-Dollar) zu stationieren, das Passagieraufkommen auf 34 Millionen Fluggäste pro Jahr zu verdoppeln und über 1.000 zusätzliche Arbeitsplätze in ganz Deutschland zu schaffen.“

DIEZ NUEVAS RUTAS A BRATISLAVA, SALZBURGO, BYDGOSZCZ Y MÁS

Ryanair, la aerolínea número 1 en España, ha anunciado hoy (14 de octubre) su programación de invierno 2025 para Alicante, que contará con 79 rutas, incluyendo diez nuevos y emocionantes destinos: Bratislava (Eslovaquia); Linz, Salzburgo (Austria); Bydgoszcz, Rzeszow (Polonia); Cardiff, Aberdeen (Gales/Escocia, Reino Unido); Estocolmo Västeras, Smaland (Suecia); y Lanzarote (España), además de más frecuencias en rutas populares como Milán, Marrakech, Budapest, Edimburgo y muchas más. Estas nuevas rutas y frecuencias adicionales permitirán a Ryanair aumentar su capacidad de invierno en Alicante un 12%, ofreciendo a sus ciudadanos y visitantes aún más opciones y conexiones regulares a las tarifas más bajas de Europa.

While Ryanair is growing at Alicante Airport this Winter, the airline has been forced to cut -1,000,000 seats from its wider Spanish Winter 2025 schedule due to AENA’s excessive +6.62% charge increase and ineffective “incentive schemes”, which is turning regional airports financially unviable to operate. Ryanair has long championed and invested in regional airports supporting low fare access to boost tourism and jobs, but cannot justify continued investment in airports where growth is blocked due to uncompetitive fees.

Ryanair, la compagnia aerea No. 1 in Italia, oggi (14 Ottobre) ha lanciato il suo operativo invernale 2025 per l’Aeroporto Internazionale di Pisa “Galileo Galilei” con 37 rotte in totale, incluse 2 nuove entusiasmanti rotte invernali per Amman e Varsavia, oltre all’aumento delle frequenze settimanali su popolari rotte esistenti, tra cui Dublino, Madrid, Marrakech, e Tirana.

L’operativo invernale 2025 di Ryanair sarà operato principalmente dagli 8 aerei basati a Pisa, che rappresentano un investimento di 800 milioni di dollari e sostengono oltre 3.600 posti di lavoro nella regione, favorendo al contempo la connettività e il turismo in entrata in città e in tutta la Regione durante tutto l’anno.

Ryanair opera da/per Pisa da 27 anni, dove ha trasportato oltre 57 milioni di passeggeri fino ad oggi, e intende continuare a investire e far crescere il traffico nella regione Toscana e in tutta Italia. Per favorire ulteriormente la crescita del traffico e del turismo in Italia, Ryanair chiede al Governo italiano e alle Regioni di eliminare l’addizionale municipale in tutti gli aeroporti italiani, come già fatto da Abruzzo, Calabria, Friuli-Venezia Giulia e, per gli aeroporti con un traffico fino a 5 milioni di passeggeri all’anno, dalla Sicilia.
