RYANAIR DELIVERS RECORD MILAN WINTER 2026 SCHEDULE WITH TWO ADDITIONAL BERGAMO-BASED AIRCRAFT

01 Oct 2026

33 AIRCRAFT ($3.3BN INVESTMENT), 125 ROUTES (10 NEW) AND 8.7M WINTER SEATS (+11%)

Ryanair, Europe and Italy’s No.1 airline, today (Thu, 1 Oct) announced its Winter 2026 schedule for Milan, delivering growth to 21 million annual passengers and offering 8.7 million winter (+11%) seats across its Bergamo and Malpensa operations. Led by strong growth at Malpensa, where Ryanair is adding over 640,000 seats (+27%) this Winter, the airline will provide customers across the Lombardy region with unbeatable low-fare connectivity on 125 routes, including 10 new Winter routes (6 from Malpensa and 4 from Bergamo).

This strong growth is supported by the addition of 2 new Bergamo-based aircraft, representing an incremental $200m investment. Ryanair’s Milan-based fleet will grow to 33 aircraft ($3.3bn total investment). Ryanair’s expanded Milan operation will continue to drive year-round traffic and tourism while supporting over 16,200 local jobs across the Lombardy region.

Ryanair continues to invest and grow in Italy, delivering significant traffic, jobs and economic growth while offering lower fares than any other airline. However, Italy’s regressive Municipal Tax, which at Bergamo and Malpensa can reach up to €7 per passenger following the recent €0.50c increase on non-EU flights at Italy’s biggest airports, continues to undermine Italy’s competitiveness and constrain Milan’s future growth. This comes at a time when Italian regions including Abruzzo, Calabria, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Sicily and Emilia-Romagna are abolishing the Municipal Tax and reducing aviation access costs to attract airline investment, stimulate traffic growth, and create tourism and jobs.

Ryanair calls on the Italian Government to follow the lead of these proactive Italian Regions and scrap the Municipal Tax at all Italian airports. If removed, Ryanair will respond with significant growth for Italy, including an additional 40 aircraft ($4bn invest.), 20m passengers p.a., 250 new routes, and another 15.000 jobs throughout Italy.

To celebrate Ryanair’s Milan Record Winter 2026 schedule, the airline has launched a limited-time seat sale with fares from just €29.99 available now via the Ryanair App/website.

Ryanair CEO, Eddie Wilson, said:

“Ryanair is pleased to launch our largest-ever Winter 2026 schedule for Milan, which will see us grow to 21 million annual passengers across Bergamo and Malpensa, supported by 33 based aircraft, a $3.3 billion investment and over 16,200 local jobs. With 125 routes, including 10 new Winter services – Liverpool, Paphos, Rabat, Reggio Calabria, Agadir, Crotone, Edinburgh, Gdansk, Funchal, Tirana -, Ryanair continues to strengthen Milan’s connectivity while delivering the lowest fares and greater choice for residents, businesses and visitors across Lombardy.”

“This Winter’s growth is led by Malpensa, where Ryanair is increasing capacity by +27%, adding more than 640,000 seats and launching 6 new routes. Ryanair is also investing a further $200 million in Lombardy through the addition of 2 new Bergamo-based aircraft, bringing our Milan-based fleet to 33 aircraft worth $3.3 billion. These investments demonstrate Ryanair’s long-term commitment to Lombardy and will continue to drive traffic, tourism and economic growth across the region.”

“While Ryanair continues to invest and grow in Milan, Italy’s Municipal Tax, including the recent increase on non-EU passengers at major airports such as Bergamo and Malpensa, continues to undermine Italy’s competitiveness. Ryanair once again calls on the Italian Government to abolish this regressive tax and unlock further investment, including an additional 40 aircraft, 20 million more passengers annually, 250 new routes and 15,000 additional jobs across Italy.

RYANAIR PRESENTA L’OPERATIVO INVERNALE 2026 DA RECORD SU MILANOCON DUE AEROMOBILI AGGIUNTIVI BASATI A BERGAMO

01 Oct 2026

RYANAIR ADDS SIXTH AIRCRAFT AT LIVERPOOL FOR WINTER 2026

24 Sep 2026

US$600M INVESTMENT, 24% GROWTH, 6 NEW ROUTES

Ryanair, the UK’s No.1 low fares airline, today (Thurs, 24 Sept) announced a sixth based aircraft at Liverpool John Lennon Airport for Winter 2026, representing a US$600m investment from Ryanair in the Northwest. This additional aircraft will deliver +100,000 additional seats (+11% growth), 6 exciting new routes to Milan Bergamo, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Porto, Tirana and Warsaw, and extra flights on 3 popular existing routes to Krakow, Kaunas and Cork. Ryanair’s record Winter 2026 schedule offers customers in Liverpool and the Northwest even more choice at Europe’s lowest fares whilst also supporting over 2,130 local jobs.

Ryanair’s Liverpool Winter 2026 schedule will deliver:

  • 27 routes, incl. 6 new routes to Milan Bergamo, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Porto, Tirana and Warsaw
  • 6 based aircraft (+1 vs. S25 – US$600m investment in Liverpool)
  • Increased freq. on 3 routes
  • 1m seats incl. +100,000 (+11%) additional seats
  • Liverpool traffic grows to over 2.6m passengers p.a. (24%)

To celebrate Ryanair’s sixth aircraft and 6 new routes at Liverpool in Winter 2026, the airline has launched a limited time seat sale with fares from £29.99 available only at Ryanair.com.

Ryanair’s CMO, Dara Brady, said:

“We are delighted to be in Liverpool today to celebrate more Ryanair investment and continued growth for the Northwest, with the announcement of a sixth Ryanair aircraft at Liverpool for Winter 2026 as well as 6 new routes to Milan Bergamo, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Porto, Tirana and Warsaw. Ryanair will also add extra flights on existing popular city break routes, like Krakow, Kaunas and Cork, driving 2026 traffic above 2.6m passengers p.a.

Ryanair’s continued investment and growth at Liverpool (US$600m) will deliver more than 1m low-fare seats to 27 European destinations, offering customers in the Northwest more choice at the lowest fares in Europe, while simultaneously driving inbound tourism. While Ryanair is growing at Liverpool, other regional airports across the UK are being hamstrung by the idiotic decision to increase APD. If the UK Govt is serious about delivering growth, they should abolish this penal and damaging APD tax, which makes the UK, particularly regional airports, uncompetitive compared to EU countries like Sweden, Hungary, Slovakia, and regional Italy, which are abolishing aviation taxes and lowering access costs to stimulate traffic, tourism, and jobs growth.

The UK has gone the wrong way by raising APD to £15 per passenger, and now the Labour Govt proposes to ‘double tax’ visitors by allowing Regional Mayors to levy a tax on hotel overnights. Ryanair has already submitted plans to the Labour Govt to grow UK traffic by 27% to 80M passengers by 2030, but this growth can only be delivered if the Govt abolishes its damaging and penal APD tax, which is now the highest in Europe.

Ryanair also called on Transport Secretary, Heidi Alexander, to dismiss overpaid failed NATS CEO Martin Rolfe. After repeated collapses of the UK ATC system, it is time for NATS to appoint a new and competent CEO who will develop an effective backup system which can actually avoid mass flight cancellations and delays.”

Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s CEO, John Irving said:

‘Liverpool John Lennon Airport is delighted that Ryanair will operate a sixth based aircraft through the winter season. This additional growth will allow passengers from across the Northwest and North Wales to use the region’s Faster.Easier.Friendlier Airport’.

RYANAIR CELEBRA 12 MILLONES DE PASAJEROS EN EL AEROPUERTO DE REUS

24 Sep 2026

Ryanair has also increased frequencies on another 26 routes, including popular holiday hotspots like Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Madrid, as well as top city break destinations like Barcelona, Belfast, Venice, Porto, Prague and Krakow, offering Ryanair’s customers in the Northwest even more low-fare choice and regular connections this Winter.

  • Manchester traffic grows to over 9m passengers p.a. (+13%)

To celebrate Ryanair’s 19th aircraft and 1 new route at Manchester for Winter 2026, the airline has launched a limited time seat sale with fares from £29.99 available to book now via the Ryanair App.

Ryanair’s CMO, Dara Brady, said:

“Ryanair is pleased to announce our 19th based aircraft at Manchester Airport for Winter 2026, which will grow our Manchester traffic by 13% and create dozens more local jobs, building on the 7,500 local jobs that Ryanair already supports.

With this new aircraft comes a new exciting Ryanair route to Warsaw Modlin, as well as extra frequencies on 26 of our existing routes, including popular sun and city break destinations, like Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Madrid, Barcelona, Belfast, Venice, Porto, Prague and Krakow, offering our customers in the North West more choice at the lowest fares in Europe, while simultaneously driving important inbound tourism.

While Ryanair is growing at Manchester, other regional airports across the UK are being hamstrung by the idiotic decision to increase APD.

Manchester Airport Chief Commercial Officer, Stephen Turner, said:

“Here at Manchester Airport we are proud to connect the North to the world, with the biggest and best route network of any UK airport outside London. Our long-standing partnership with Ryanair is a key part of that offering and that’s why I’m so pleased that it is expanding its operation here at the UK’s global gateway in the North.

Ryanair now operates exclusively from our Terminal 3 – where we’re in the middle of a very exciting improvement project. I’m really looking forward to welcoming Ryanair’s passengers this winter – particularly those who are heading to Warsaw Modlin as a new service for this year.”
